HOW OLD ARE THE RIDERS TRAINING IN YOUR ACADEMY?

Our Academy is made up of three groups Grommies (4-12), Rookies (10-18) and Seniors (18+). While our Winter academy caters to all three groups, our Summer Academy currently only caters for Grommies aged 7-12 and Rookies 10-18.

WHAT LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

Almost none at all. We cater for those from day one, right up to an international level. You are welcome no matter what your level of ability is*. All riders follow the same progression road, you will just fit in at a level appropriate to you.

*For the Summer Academy you need to be able to comfortably swim in the Ocean. For the Winter Academy you need to be able to comfortable ski/board blue runs.

DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER or IS THERE A JOINING FEE?

Not at all. 

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

You will be provided with full equipment lists for each outdoor session, including food requirements. Surfboards SUPs and longboards are provided for Summer Academy. Please note that you will need to provide your own wetsuit for the summer academy. All equipment is provided for indoor sessions. However, it is recommended to bring your own helmet and skateboard, bike or scooter as you are used to riding your own equipment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS OR THE WEATHER IS BAD?

We are lucky to have our own indoor training facility. Throughout the term we have a variety of modules that we aim to complete. Some of these are indoors and some are outdoors. If the weather is no good for outdoor training we will simply complete an indoor module.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

Summer Camps:

As we have our indoor base cancellations are rare. If X-Ten Collective cancels a camp these will be made no later than 24 hours before the start time of each camp.

Refunds:
If the full camp is cancelled by X-Ten: 100% refund
If 1 day is cancelled by X-Ten: 25% Refund
If 2 days are cancelled by X-Ten: 50% Refund

If booking is cancelled by rider –
Up to 1 week before camp* – 100% refund minus $15 processing fee
Within 1 week of camp date – 75%  minus $15 processing fee
Within 48 hours of camp start – 50% refund minus $15 processing fee

*Camp day starts at 9:30am

Winter Clinicss

Cancellations/postponements will be made by 4pm on the Thursday before each camp.

Refunds:
If we cancel: 100% refund
If you cancel: 75% refund – minus $10 processing fee

*Camp date starts at 8:45am of day/s booked.

 ARE MY COACHES QUALIFIED?

All senior coaches are fully qualified/certified in their field and hold up-to-date first aid qualifications. Most classes include a junior coach for support, these junior coaches hold qualifications.

HOW BIG ARE THE CLASSES?

We have a 1 to 8 policy for both Winter and Summer Academies. Most classes have a Senior and Junior coach allocated giving a 1 to 4 ratio.

DO YOU HAVE A CURRENT SAFETY PLAN?

We have a thorough safety and emergency plan in place, this can be made available upon request. A condensed copy of this will be given out in the welcome pack to all training riders.

WHERE DO I FIND WHERE TO DROP OFF & PICKUP MY RIDER?
